Jan 13, 2015 - 16:23

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The list of ministers-designate, their brief biographies and educational documents reached the Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon Secretariat on Tuesday, an official said.

Siddique Osmani, the Wolesi Jirga deputy secretary, told reporters the next step would be setting in motion the vote of confidence process. The process is expected start next week.

As part of the relevant procedure, biographies and documents of the cabinet nominees will be shared with different commissions of the lower house.

Osmani claimed majority of the cabinet members were inexperience and lacked professionalism. He blasted the president and CEO for breaking their promises regarding nomination of qualified individuals.

He vowed the lower house would not give vote of confidence to inexperience and non-professional cabinet candidates. In addition, the Wolesi Jirga will reject the nominees with dual nationality.

Article 72 of the constitution says that an individual with two nationalities could not become a minister.

Qazi Ahmad Hanafi, a lawmaker from western Heart province, said inexperienced cabinet nominees would not get vote of confidence.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sardar Mohammad Rahimi, minister-designate of commerce and industries, and Dr. Daud Shah Saba visited the Wolesi Jirga for campaigning.
