Bagram residents protest against land usurpers

KABULinfo-icon CITY (Pajhwok): Some residents of Bagram district of central Parwan province on Monday protested against occupation of their rain-fed farmlands by powerful individuals.

The protesting residents of Ozbashe area blocked the Kabul-Bagram highway against traffic for more than one hour.

Khan Sharif, a tribal elder among the protestors, told Pajhwok Afghan News powerful individuals had usurped their lands.

Another resident from Ozbashe, Lal Mohammad, said they were jobless while their farms had been captured by strongmen.

Police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Zaman Mamomzai said the mentioned area was with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the protesting people should approach the ministry’s housing department.
