Taliban commander falls prey to own bomb

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): A notorious Talibaninfo-icon commander Qari Abid was killed in a blast caused by his own bomb in northern Baghlan province on Sunday, the governor said.

Governor Abdul Sattar Bariz told Pajhwok Afghan News Abid was killed by his own bomb at around 10:00am.

He said the slain commander was a notorious figure and had carried out terrorist activities in different parts of the province.

Asadullah, a local policeman, confirmed Abid was killed in Akakhel-Dand Shabodin village when he was busy making landmines with partners.
