Apr 30, 2017 - 11:31

TRINIKOT (Pajhwok):  Two Afghan security forces have been killed during an airstrike in central Uruzgan province, a reliable source revealed on Sunday.

A security official, who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened in Kotwall area in the limits of Tarinkot, the provincial capital, late on Saturday evening.

He said two soldiers were killed and four others wounded when the Afghan Air Force conducted the airstrike, mistakenly targeting the quick reaction force personnel.

Dr. Zia-ur-Rahman of the Uruzgan Civil Hospital said four injured soldiers were shifted to the hospital and two of them succumbed to their wounds.

The two others were shifted in critical condition to Kandahar hospital for better treatment, he added.

Gen. Mohammad Radmanesh, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, was unaware of the incident and said the ministry would investigate the incident.
