35 Taliban killed, 45 wounded in Uruzgan clash

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Thirty-five militants were killed and 45 others were wounded during an overnight clash with security forces in the Dehrawud district of central Uruzgan province, an official said on Friday.

Dehrawud district police chief Shah Mohammad told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash between security forces and Talibaninfo-icon militants occurred last night.

He said the dead rebels included seven commanders. He said the security forces had air support. Bodies of the dead rebels were still at the clash site and police had confiscated light and heavy weapons from the scene.

Mohammad said one local police member was killed and two Afghan National Army soldiers were wounded in the clash.

The Taliban have so far said nothing about the clash.
