KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Government officials and civil societyinfo-icon activists on Thursday paid tribute to security for maintaining security during Eid holidays across the country.

A gathering aimed at honouring the security forces was attended by Information and Culture Ministry officials and the Afghan Youth civil society group in Kabul.

Deputy information and culture minister for youth affairs, Dr. Kamal Sadat, on the occasion said: “We witnessed no untoward incident during Eid days because of your good security measures, so we gathered here to praise your good acts.”

Sadat told security forces that they were not alone and all the nation was standing behind them. “We will never forget your heroism and sacrifices.”

Afghanistaninfo-icon Civil Society group leader Fardin Fidai said security personnel belonged to every tribe and ethnicity and instead of indulging in tribal conflicts, the Afghans should support their national security and defence forces.

Deputy interior minister for security and Kabul 101 Asmai Zone police acting commander Brig. Gen. Mohammad Salam Ihsas thanked organizers of the gathering to honor security forces.

Maj. Gen. Abdul Nasir Ziaee, 111 unit commander at Ministry of Defence, said people’s support with security forces was vital for their success.

He said some people were irresponsibly criticising the security forces, which had a negative impact on the morale of the forces.
