NPC approves 12 contracts worth nearly 4bn afghanis

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The National Procurement Commission (NPC) has approved 12 project contracts worth around four billion afghanis and rejected a contract about IT equipment supply to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said the contracts were signed during a NPC meeting chaired by President Ashraf Ghani in his office on Wednesday evening.

The contracts were about economic and technical study of new Salang tunnel, construction of first part or 23 kilometers of road between capital of Bamyan province and Doshi district and amendment to the contract for advisory services of substations’ design and power cables extension to Bamyan.

Agricultureinfo-icon pesticides supply, building of agricultural farms in Engil district of Herat province, providing healthcare services in Farah and Nimroz provinces, fuel procurement for the public protection department of the Ministry of Interior, extension of contracts for building agricultural farms in Balkh and Parwan provinces and extension of expenditures for government scholarships in Turkey, Malaysia and India for current year were other contracts signed.

However, the statement said the NPC rejected the contract of IT equipment procurement for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
