TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Work on five development projects was launched in Tirinkot, the capital of central Uruzgan province, on Thursday, the governor said.

Mohammad Nazir Kharotai told the projects’ inauguration ceremony that four of the schemes would be implemented by the provincial Agricultureinfo-icon and Livestock Department and one by the Revenue Department.

Funded by the Ministry of Finance, the projects were estimated to cost 14.1 million afghanis, said the governor.

He said both the sidewalls each 350 meters would be constructed on both sides of two canals.

Kharotai, who also laid the foundation stone of a new building for the finance section of the Revenue Department, said the structure would cost four million afghanis and would take four months to complete.
