SHARANA (Pajhwok): Hashish weighing 130 kilograms were seized by Special Forces from a car and two suspects arrested in southeastern Paktika province, an official said on Wednesday.

Provincial Special Forces commander, Gen. Azizullah Karwan, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drugs were confiscated from a car after a tip-off.

He said the two detained persons were currently under interrogation. Karwan said people’s cooperation with security forces in their crackdown on drugs had increased.

Paktika police chief Gen. Mohammad Azim Hashimi said they would allow no one to purchase, sell or smuggle drugs.

He said cultivation of narcotics in Paktika was equivalent to zero and drugs were smuggled into the province from other provinces for addicts. He assured of curbing drug trafficking.
